Crafting: Houses of Lights

At the International Youth Library, we have been celebrating the Festival of Lights in this tradition for over 25 years. This year, children can make colorful houses of lights all day on the “Buß- und Bettag”. Craft kits are also availabe to buy and craft at home. At the beginning of the Christmas Market on December 08, 2023 at 5:00 p.m., a long procession of children and parents with self-made houses of lights will move around the castle pond and follow Lucia. When it is dark, the houses of lights are placed on the water, which turn the lake into a sparkling sea of lights.

10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (registration required at kinderbibliothek@ijb.de).
Cost: € 5.00 per child (incl. craft materials)

Craft kits for home are already available for purchase from November 1, 2023 for €5 at the Children's Library during drop-off times.
