Blutenburg Castle

Since 1983, the International Youth Library has been housed in Blutenburg Castle, situated in Obermenzing, a quarter in the western part of Munich.

The historical building complex dating from the 15th century offers a place to work and study to 32 full and part-time staff members as well as users of all ages speaking many different languages. The underground cellar beneath the castle courtyard provides an extensive storage area for the unique book collection.
